ONE-DAY TEXTURE & COLOUR COURSE

Service Description

This one-day woodturning course, hosted by the brilliant Chris Parker, is tailored for intermediate to advanced turners, focusing on mastering texturing techniques. Students will explore four to five different textures in a hands-on setting, gaining a deeper understanding of specialist paint mediums and their applications. The course emphasises practical skills, with each participant creating a textured reference piece in the morning and collaborating in the afternoon to complete a full project based on their chosen texture. What you will learn: - A variety of texturing techniques - Application of specialist paint mediums - How to create a reference piece with multiple textures - Collaborative project development and execution This course offers a unique opportunity to refine your texturing skills and leave with two personalised pieces to inspire future projects. CLASSROOM FACILITIES 

The classroom provides individual lathes, complete sets of turning tools, safety gear, and all necessary materials for each student. Located in a well-lit and spacious workshop on a thriving farm shop site, it offers a refreshing environment with opportunities for retail therapy during breaks from turning.

  • 10am - 1pm                   Workshop time 

  • 1pm - 2pm                     Lunch

  • 2pm - 4pm                   Workshop time

  • 4pm - 4:30pm             Debrief and unwind

Lunch is provided onsite at the farm shops Wonderfull super cosy restaurant 

SAFETY INFORMATION

We provide safety visors and a soft dust mask but feel free to bring your own safety gear. Wear appropriate shoes; no open sandals, deck shoes, or flip-flops. Please inform us of any medical conditions for emergency preparedness.

CANCELATION POLICY

  • Deposit required on signup and balance paid on arrival

  • No refunds are given if you withdraw 6 weeks or less prior to course 

  • If you withdraw up to 2 months before a class, you may apply this amount to future class' within six months of your cancelled class date.

  • Exceptions will be handled on a case-by-case basis
