Whether you're perfecting bowl gouge or spindle gouge techniques, this course is not only a fun way to learn, but also a fantastic opportunity to create unique gifts for craft fairs. Throughout the course, you'll master essential techniques like work holding and friction chucking, which can be applied to various projects. Craft a jam chuck to secure your pieces, and create your very own apple and pear. We'll explore a range of vibrant wood options, allowing you to choose the timber that suits your preferences. By the end of the course, you'll leave with all the skills and knowledge to craft your own fruit pieces! The classroom provides individual lathes, complete sets of turning tools, safety gear, and all necessary materials for each student. Located in a well-lit and spacious workshop on a thriving farm shop site, it offers a refreshing environment with opportunities for retail therapy during breaks from turning.

Lunch is provided onsite at the farm shops Wonderfull super cosy restaurant 


We provide safety visors and a soft dust mask but feel free to bring your own safety gear. Wear appropriate shoes; no open sandals, deck shoes, or flip-flops. Please inform us of any medical conditions for emergency preparedness.


  • Deposit required on signup and balance paid on arrival

  • No refunds are given if you withdraw 6 weeks or less prior to course 

  • If you withdraw up to 2 months before a class, you may apply this amount to future class' within six months of your cancelled class date.

  • Exceptions will be handled on a case-by-case basis
